A multidisciplinary, peer-reviewed publication of the Institute.

The Journal of the Institute for Policy and Gender Advancement invites scholars, researchers, practitioners and thought leaders to submit original and high-quality manuscripts for publication in its upcoming issue.

Gender, Governance, and the Politics of Inclusion in Contemporary Nigeria

Papers are invited that examine how gender shapes, and is shaped by, governance, public administration and policy across Nigeria and the wider region.

Before you submit

Submission Guidelines

  1. Manuscripts should be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.
  2. Articles should be between 5,000 – 7,000 words, including references.
  3. Use APA 7th edition referencing style throughout.
  4. Include an abstract of no more than 250 words, with 4–6 keywords.
  5. All submissions should be in Microsoft Word format.

  • Academics and postgraduate researchers
  • Policy analysts
  • Civil society professionals
  • Practitioners and thought leaders across the listed disciplines

Authors must attach a title page containing

  • Full name(s) of all authors
  • Institutional affiliation(s)
  • Email address(es)
  • A biographical note of no more than 100 words

The editorial team checks scope, originality and compliance with the guidelines.

Peer review

Manuscripts that pass screening are sent to subject reviewers for assessment.

Step 04

Decision

Editorial decisions are communicated within 6–8 weeks of submission.

Step 05

Publication

Accepted articles appear in Volume 1, Number 1, September 2026.
